Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how BG Eraser Pro, published and operated by CreativeStack (creativestack-web) at https://bg-eraser-tool.vercel.app/ ("the Website", "the Tool", "we", "our", or "us"), collects, uses, and safeguards information when you access our service.

BG Eraser Pro is a free, browser-based AI image background removal tool. By using the Website, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please discontinue use of the Website immediately.

Plain-Language Summary

We do not sell your data. We do not store your images. We use standard website analytics and display Google ads. You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time. Your images are processed in real time and immediately discarded after delivery of results.

Information We Collect

BG Eraser Pro collects the minimum information necessary to operate the service and deliver a high-quality user experience. Information is collected in two primary ways:

1.1 Information You Provide Voluntarily

When you use BG Eraser Pro's background removal feature, you upload an image file from your device. This image is the only content you actively submit to the tool. It is transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our third-party image processing API (remove.bg) solely for the purpose of background removal. We do not receive, store, cache, or retain a copy of this image on any BG Eraser Pro server.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

Like the vast majority of websites on the internet, BG Eraser Pro automatically collects certain non-personally identifiable technical information when you visit the Website. This may include:

  • Your Internet Protocol (IP) address
  • Browser type, version, and language settings
  • Operating system and device type
  • Referring URLs and exit pages
  • Date, time, and duration of your visit
  • Pages and features accessed during your session
  • Geographic region (country/city level, derived from IP address)

This information is collected through standard web server log files and third-party analytics services. It is used in aggregate form to understand how users interact with the Website and to improve performance and usability.

No Account Required

BG Eraser Pro does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or submit any personally identifiable information to use the background removal feature. You are anonymous to us.

Image Processing — Critical Disclosure

We Do NOT Store Your Images — Ever

Images uploaded to BG Eraser Pro are processed exclusively in real time via a secure, encrypted connection to the remove.bg API. At no point are your uploaded images saved, stored, archived, backed up, cached, indexed, or retained on any BG Eraser Pro or CreativeStack server, database, cloud storage bucket, or other persistent storage medium.

The complete lifecycle of an image uploaded to BG Eraser Pro is as follows:

Step Action Storage Impact
1 You select or drag an image file in your browser. File exists only in your browser's local memory (RAM). No upload has occurred.
2 You click "Remove Background". The browser sends a direct HTTPS API request to remove.bg containing your image. The image is transmitted over TLS encryption. It is not routed through any BG Eraser Pro server.
3 The remove.bg neural network processes the image and returns a transparent PNG result. remove.bg processes the image in memory and deletes it within 24 hours per their own privacy policy.
4 The transparent PNG result is delivered directly to your browser. The result is stored only in your browser's temporary memory until you download it or close the tab.
5 You click "Download HD PNG" to save the result. The file is saved to your local device. It is removed from browser memory when the tab is closed or you upload a new image.

Third-Party API Processing — remove.bg

Background removal is powered by the remove.bg API, operated by Kaleido AI GmbH, Schottenfeldgasse 26/2/31, 1070 Vienna, Austria. Remove.bg has its own privacy policy governing its handling of submitted images, which is available at https://www.remove.bg/privacy. We encourage you to review their policy. By using BG Eraser Pro, you also agree to be bound by remove.bg's terms of service with respect to image processing.

Remove.bg states that images uploaded via API are automatically and permanently deleted from their servers within 24 hours of processing. They do not use uploaded images to train machine learning models without explicit consent.

Log Files & Network Analytics

BG Eraser Pro follows the standard industry practice of using server-side log files. Log files record information about each request made to the Website's hosting infrastructure (GitHub Pages CDN). The information collected by log files is standard across most internet services and includes:

  • IP Addresses: The Internet Protocol address assigned to your device by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.
  • Browser Type & Version: e.g., Google Chrome 120, Mozilla Firefox 121, Safari 17.
  • Internet Service Provider (ISP): The organisation providing your internet connection.
  • Referring and Exit Pages: The URL of the page you visited immediately before and after BG Eraser Pro.
  • Timestamps: The date and time of each request, including the specific pages and resources accessed.
  • Clickstream Data: A record of the sequence of pages or features you navigated within the Website.

Purpose of Log File Collection

Log file data is used exclusively for the following legitimate operational purposes:

  • Analysing website traffic trends, popular features, and geographic usage patterns.
  • Diagnosing and debugging technical errors, performance bottlenecks, and infrastructure issues.
  • Detecting and investigating malicious activity, abuse, or security incidents.
  • Generating anonymised aggregate reports to inform product improvements.

GitHub Pages Analytics

BG Eraser Pro is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service provided by GitHub, Inc. (a subsidiary of Microsoft Corporation). GitHub may independently collect technical log and analytics data as part of their hosting infrastructure. This collection is governed by GitHub's Privacy Statement. BG Eraser Pro does not control or have access to GitHub's internal server log data.

Log data collected directly by or on behalf of BG Eraser Pro is retained for a maximum period of 90 days, after which it is automatically purged. No log data is sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

BG Eraser Pro uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your browsing experience, deliver relevant advertisements, and analyse website traffic. This section explains what cookies are, how we use them, and how you can control them.

What Are Cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) when you visit it. Cookies allow websites to "remember" information about your visit, such as your preferred language settings or whether you have previously agreed to a terms of service banner. Cookies do not contain executable code, viruses, or any personally identifiable information unless you have specifically provided such information to the website.

What Are Web Beacons?

A web beacon (also called a pixel tag, clear GIF, or tracking pixel) is a tiny, transparent 1×1 pixel image embedded in a web page or email. When your browser loads a page containing a web beacon, it sends a request to the server hosting the image. This request can record information such as your IP address, the time of your visit, and whether you performed a specific action (such as clicking a link). Web beacons are commonly used by advertising networks to track the effectiveness of ad campaigns.

How to Manage and Disable Cookies

You have the right to accept or refuse cookies. Most modern web browsers allow you to control cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of BG Eraser Pro and other websites you visit.

To manage cookies in your browser, visit the help pages for:

To opt out of Google Analytics tracking specifically, you may install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Google DoubleClick DART Cookies

BG Eraser Pro uses Google AdSense to serve advertisements. As part of this advertising relationship, Google uses a technology known as the DoubleClick DART cookie to serve ads to visitors of BG Eraser Pro.

What is the DART Cookie?

The DART cookie is set by Google's advertising network (DoubleClick, now part of Google's marketing platform) and enables Google to display advertisements to you on BG Eraser Pro and other websites based on your previous visits to sites across the Internet. This is known as interest-based or behavioural advertising.

How DART Cookies Work

When you visit BG Eraser Pro, the Google AdSense code embedded in our pages instructs your browser to request an ad from Google's ad servers. As part of this process, Google may set or read a DART cookie (IDE) stored in your browser under the domain doubleclick.net. This cookie does not contain personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, or postal address.

The DART cookie stores a unique, anonymous identifier (a randomly generated string of characters). Google uses this identifier to:

  • Serve you advertisements that are relevant to your interests, based on your browsing history across participating websites.
  • Limit the number of times you see a particular advertisement (frequency capping).
  • Measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and report aggregated statistics to advertisers.
  • Prevent you from seeing the same ad repeatedly in a short period.

Opting Out of DART / Personalised Advertising

You can opt out of Google's use of the DART cookie for interest-based advertising at any time. To do so, visit the Google Ad Settings page at https://www.google.com/settings/ads, or opt out through the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page at https://optout.networkadvertising.org/.

Opting out of personalised advertising means you will still see advertisements on BG Eraser Pro, but they will be contextual (based on the content of the page) rather than interest-based (based on your browsing history).

For more information about how Google uses data when you use our site and how to manage Google advertising cookies, please visit: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Third-Party Privacy Policies

BG Eraser Pro integrates with several third-party services to deliver functionality, analytics, and advertising. Each of these third parties has its own independent privacy policy that governs their data collection and use practices. BG Eraser Pro is not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.

We strongly encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you interact with through our Website:

Google AdSense & Advertising

BG Eraser Pro is monetised through Google AdSense, an advertising programme operated by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google AdSense allows us to display advertisements on the Website, which generates revenue that funds the free operation of the service.

How Google AdSense Works

When you visit a page on BG Eraser Pro that contains an AdSense ad unit, Google's servers may set or read advertising cookies on your device to deliver relevant advertisements. These cookies collect information about your browsing behaviour across participating websites to build a profile of your interests and serve targeted advertisements.

What Data Google May Collect for Advertising

  • Pages you visit on BG Eraser Pro and other AdSense-participating websites.
  • Your approximate geographic location (country and city, derived from IP address).
  • Your device type and browser settings.
  • Interactions with advertisements (impressions, clicks, and conversions).
  • A pseudonymous advertising identifier (the DART cookie described in Section 5).

BG Eraser Pro does not pass any personally identifiable information (such as names, email addresses, or image content) to Google AdSense. Google's collection and use of data through AdSense is governed entirely by Google's Privacy Policy.

Non-Personalised Advertising

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, or if you have opted out of personalised advertising, Google may serve you non-personalised advertisements. These ads are selected based on contextual signals such as the content of the page you are viewing, rather than your personal browsing history. Contextual advertising still uses cookies for basic functionality such as fraud prevention and frequency capping.

Your Advertising Choices

You can manage your Google advertising preferences and opt out of personalised ads at any time through the following official resources:

Data Security

The security of your data is important to us. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the information we process against unauthorised access, accidental loss, alteration, or disclosure.

Security Measures We Implement

  • HTTPS Encryption: All data transmitted between your browser and our Website — including image uploads to the remove.bg API — is protected by TLS (Transport Layer Security) encryption. This prevents interception of data in transit.
  • No Server-Side Image Storage: The most significant security measure is our architectural decision to never store user images on our infrastructure. There is no database, file system, or cloud storage containing your images, which means there is nothing for an adversary to breach.
  • API Key Security: Our remove.bg API key is protected and is never exposed in client-side code that would allow unauthorised parties to use it.
  • GitHub Pages CDN: The Website is served via GitHub's global content delivery network, which includes DDoS protection, security monitoring, and automatic HTTPS certificate management.
  • Third-Party Security: We rely on established, security-audited third-party services (Google, GitHub, remove.bg) that maintain their own comprehensive security programmes.
Limitation of Liability

While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify affected parties and relevant supervisory authorities as required by applicable law.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time to reflect changes in our practices, service features, legal requirements, or regulatory guidance. We are committed to keeping this policy current and transparent.

Notification of Changes

When we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will:

  • Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and in the Website's page header.
  • Post a prominent notice on the BG Eraser Pro homepage for a minimum of 30 days following the change.
  • Where technically feasible and where we have contact information, notify affected users directly.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. Your continued use of BG Eraser Pro following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
